Hit my 500th crane lift last Thursday without even realizing it till I was done

I was just moving some steel beams for a warehouse job in Fresno and counted off the day. Turns out my logbook showed 500 lifts exactly. Felt weird because I never thought about it as a milestone but now I look back at all the dumb rookie mistakes I made on lift number 3 or 4. Anyone else have a number sneak up on you like that?

That's wild that 500 just crept up on you like that lol. I actually read something in a safety newsletter about how crane operators often lose track of their count because the routine becomes so automatic after a while. The article said most guys remember their early lifts way more than the later ones because you're so nervous and focused back then. Makes me wonder how many times I've spaced out and missed a cool milestone like that myself.

Respectfully disagree, tracking numbers like that just kills the rhythm of the job for me.
