A rigger in Houston told me something that changed how I set my crane

Honestly, I was setting up for a tight lift downtown last year and this older rigger, Frank, walked over. He pointed at my outriggers and said, 'You're good, but you're missing the dip in the street. Add an inch on the low side now or fight it all day.' He was totally right. I've checked for that slight grade on every street job since. Anyone else have a simple tip that saved a lift?

My old foreman had a rule about wind. He called it the "two flag rule" and it saved a whole lift once.
