TIL my hand coded px font from 3 years ago still renders sharper in Safari than the variable one I built last month
Dug up the old .woff file from a folder in my Dropbox just to see if it held up, and somehow those blocky little glyphs I drew on a 12px grid still snap to pixel boundaries better than anything modern. Has anyone else noticed old bitmap style fonts holding their edge better than new variable stuff on lower dpi screens?
