I used to say hand coded SVG icons were a waste when I could just drop in a PNG sprite sheet for my little portfolio site, and I stuck with that for about 2 years. Then I swapped my nav bar to inline SVG with a shared viewBox last month, and the file went from 180KB down to 9KB while the icons finally stayed sharp on my sister's 4K monitor. So what's the thing you wrote off as too much trouble that ended up being the simple fix, and what finally got you to try it?
