I paid $180 for a "hand-coded" icon font generator and the SVGs came out with 47 anchor points each
I bought this icon font generator two months ago in Columbus because I wanted to stop hand-tuning my glyphs one by one, and it seemed like a shortcut. Turns out every icon it spat out had something like 47 anchor points on a single 24px shape, so the curves were lumpy and I couldn't edit them without wrecking the weight. I went back to drawing mine by hand in Glyphs and writing my own little script for the export, which took a weekend but actually works. Now I'm wondering if I just picked a bad one. Anyone here use a generator that gives you clean outlines, or is hand-drawing the only way that really holds up?
