Hand-coding color palettes vs using a generator, which side are you on?
I was at a design meetup in Austin last week and watched two folks argue over how they pick colors for their web tools. One swears by hand-picking every hex value with a ruler and eye, the other uses a random palette generator and tweaks one or two variables. I get both, but my own font icons looked muddy until I stopped trusting generators, so is the extra effort really worth it for you?

That ruler and eye method reminds me of my grandma picking paint for her kitchen in the 80s, she never got it wrong.
