Warning: I noticed a huge change on our job sites after we switched to digital punch lists
About 6 months ago we moved from paper punch lists to a tablet system on our commercial builds in Atlanta. The difference was night and day. Before, we'd have guys arguing over who wrote what and missing items that fell off the clipboard. Now every issue has a timestamp and a photo attached to it. I think it saved us about 2 hours per project just in back-and-forth conversation. Has anyone else seen their punch list close rates improve after going digital?

Paper still works fine if your crew knows what they're doing. We tried digital for about two months and switched back because the tablets kept breaking on site and guys would forget to charge them. Ended up losing more time trying to get the software to work than we ever saved. Plus half the subs in our area don't even know how to attach a photo.

you know, i used to be all on the digital bandwagon, thought paper was ancient. but you saying "guys would forget to charge them" hit home. my buddy runs a crew and their tablets died mid inspection, dude had to drive back to the office for paper forms. i was wrong, paper just works when everyone's tired and it's raining.
