Walked a job site with the architect and found out we've been reading the drawings wrong for 3 months

I had a meeting last Thursday at a mixed-use project in downtown Portland where the architect finally came out to look at the MEP rough-ins. Turns out the soffit heights on page A-201 don't match the reflected ceiling plan on page A-205. We've been running conduit at 10 feet when the spec calls for 9 foot 6. The drywall crew already framed a bunch of bulkheads that are going to have to get ripped out. The architect just shrugged and said 'that's a field coordination issue.' Meanwhile I've got 4 electricians and 2 pipefitters staring at me wondering if they need to redo everything. Has anyone else had an architect breeze through a job site and drop a bombshell like that without taking any responsibility for the error?

Red pen on already installed work. That's a bold move for someone who probably forgot to order door hardware on time.

Had a similar thing happen on a hospital job where the architect showed up with a roll of red pen and started marking up the fire alarm drawings we'd already installed. I just stood there thinking "you had three months to catch this during the design phase.
