The laser level that swore at me in front of the whole crew
Last Tuesday on a job site in Tulsa, I set up my rotary laser to shoot a line for a suspended ceiling. It kept beeping and blinking red, so I figured the battery was dead and swapped it out. Turns out I'd knocked the calibration button with my belt, and the thing was trying to tell me it was off by 3/4 inch. After 20 minutes of blaming the batteries, the apprentice finally read the manual out loud and we re-zeroed it. Ever had a tool make you look like the problem when it was actually user error all along?

That blinking red calibration warning got me too, now I always level it on a known flat spot before trusting the line.
