Superintendent told me I micromanage my subs too much

I used to stand over the electricians every morning checking their conduit runs on a big apartment job in Austin. One super pulled me aside and said 'you hired them, now let them work.' Changed my approach completely. Do you find that backing off actually improves quality or does stuff slip through the cracks?

Man that hit home huh? Feels like a slap in the face at first but he might be on to something. Did you try stepping back, and if so what changed?

Wait, you actually tried it? I used to roll my eyes at stuff like this, but @nina834, you might be onto something here - I gave it a real shot last week and it honestly changed my whole outlook.
