Site meeting in Denver taught me a lesson about trailer storage

Sat in on a pre-pour meeting yesterday and the GC was going off about how the electrician left conduit bundles all over the laydown area. One guy from the concrete crew mentioned they almost called in a half-day because they couldnt find their screed pipes under all that mess. It hit me that we never talk about staging space in the kickoff, we just assume it happens. Made me want to build a simple yard layout into our next project plan. Has anyone else had to deal with trade crews stacking gear on each other's work zones, and how do you handle it without turning into the hall monitor?

Built the yard layout into the kickoff slide after a mess like that on a school job. Just a simple map with zones painted on the ground, each trade gets a color. Worked way better than I thought because the GC actually pointed to it when someone dumped conduit in the wrong spot. Also added a rule that anything left in someone else's zone after 24 hours gets moved by the super, no questions asked. Took one job to get everyone on board, but now the laydown area runs way smoother and nobody has to play hall monitor.
