Pro tip: Those cheap laser levels from Amazon will just eat your time
I bought a $45 laser level off Amazon for a 40-foot wall layout last month and it was off by almost 1/4 inch at the far end. Ended up having to re-shoot the whole thing with a borrowed Bosch, wasted about 3 hours on a Monday morning. Has anyone else had bad luck with the budget brands on longer runs?

Had a buddy try one of those cheap ones for hanging kitchen cabinets and the line drifted about a quarter inch over 12 feet. He ended up having to redo three cabinets the next day and just bought a proper level instead.

My buddy Mike grabbed a 2-dollar laser level off Amazon for hanging shelves in his garage and the line was wobbling so bad he just threw it in the trash after ten minutes. He ended up borrowing my old Craftsman level instead and got the whole project done in an afternoon without any level of headache. Sometimes you really do get what you pay for with these things, especially when you're trying to keep a straight line.
