Pro tip: Stop scheduling concrete pours for Friday afternoon - learned the hard way

For 3 years I always poured on Fridays to clear the schedule for Monday. Then a guy from the testing lab in Denver told me I was setting myself up for weekend shrinkage cracks. The concrete sits untended for 48 hours while the temp swings and nobody's around to wet it down. Has anyone else had better luck with Tuesday or Wednesday pours?

Right? I dug post holes all day Saturday for a fence, and by Sunday morning my back was screaming at me. The concrete set up hard as a rock overnight, but I was still hobbling around for two days. Doesn't matter how much you plan, that stuff owns your weekend.
