My old foreman told me to stop trying to save money on concrete mixes

He said, 'Cheap mix costs you twice, once when you buy it and once when you fix it.' I didn't listen on a small garage job in Tacoma last fall, went with a budget mix to save maybe $300. Six months later, the slab had hairline cracks all over and the client was furious. I had to eat the cost of a full grind and seal to make it right, which ran me over $2,500. Anyone else learned this lesson the hard way with materials?

My cheap paint job peeled in under a year, cost me double to fix.

Honestly, that "cost me double to fix" part is so real. I tried to save money on my deck paint and it was a total mess. It started flaking off in big sheets after one winter. I had to rent a power sander and buy all new, better paint, which took a whole weekend. Tbh, the cheap stuff just ends up being way more work.
