Is spending $400 on a jobsite WiFi hotspot worth it or a total waste?

I dropped $400 on a cellular router and unlimited data plan for my crew on a 12 unit townhouse job outside Raleigh. Foreman loves it because he can pull up blueprints and punch lists in real time without relying on slow site wifi. But my partner at the office says I wasted money since we could just share phone hotspots. First two weeks it saved us a 3 hour trip when a supplier sent wrong windows and we caught it on site. But now I'm wondering if the monthly fee adds up too fast for smaller crews. Has anyone else sunk cash into site connectivity and regretted it or sworn by it?

THREE hours for a wrong window? That's INSANE, I'd pay $400 just to dodge that drive.

@emmar75 I mean realistically $400 in gas would get you pretty far depending on your car. But yeah three hours of your life gone is rough, especially when the guy couldn't even read a tape measure. Was the window at least the right size just reversed or completely wrong?
