I was sure those new digital inspection checklists were just extra busywork until our punch list time got cut by 30% on the Maple Street project.

The super on that job showed me the data from the app, and we caught 47 minor issues before the final walkthrough, which completely changed my view on tech adoption.

That's a huge time save, and catching those small things early must have made the final walkthrough way less stressful. What was the hardest part about getting the crew to actually use the app at first? I've seen good tools fail just because people didn't want to change their routine.

We had a few guys who just refused to carry their tablets to the site. The turning point was when the foreman made it mandatory for signing off on material deliveries, so they literally couldn't do their job without it. Took about three weeks of grumbling before it became the new normal.
