I finally stopped trusting my tape measure and started using a cheap laser every day

After 12 years of layout work I assumed a $35 laser was just a gimmick, but last month on a 40-foot commercial wall in Cleveland it caught a 3-inch error in my chalk line that would have cost me a full day of redoing framing, so now I'm wondering if anyone else switched and found their old measuring habits were the real bottleneck?
