GC on my last job kept tracking concrete by the truck instead of by the yard, and it cost him $4,200
Watcher here, mostly doing site checks for a builder in Columbus. The super on my last pour kept logging trucks on the daily report but never the actual yards off the batch tickets, so nobody caught that three loads came in short. When the flatwork crew ran out, they had to order a 3 yard short load on a Saturday, and that minimum charge plus the overtime ran him about $4,200 for maybe 90 minutes of work. I've been pulling batch tickets and matching them to the pour log every afternoon now, takes 10 minutes and it's caught two short loads since March. The tickets have the exact yardage right on them, so there's no reason to guess. Anyone else logging by the truck on their reports, or is that just how this crew was taught?
