Found out most job site accidents happen in the first hour

I was reading through some OSHA stats last night and saw that nearly 30% of construction site injuries occur before 9 AM. That's basically the first hour on site for most crews. Has anyone else noticed their morning rush sets everyone up for mistakes?

Yeah that "first hour" stat rings true. I've seen guys show up still half asleep, skip their stretch and flex, and then pull something before the coffee kicks in. Best fix I've found is having the foreman run a quick 5 minute huddle before anyone touches a tool. Go over the day's hazards, check who's running what machine, that kind of thing. It forces everyone to wake up and pay attention before the real work starts.
