Crew at a job site in Denver showed me a better way to run conduit last week

They were using a simple homemade pull line with a swivel head instead of the standard fish tape. Cut our install time on a 60 foot run by almost 20 minutes. Anyone else tried this method?

That homemade pull line sounds like a shortcut that will cause more problems than it saves on long runs.

You said it’ll cause more problems than it saves, but I’m not sure it’s THAT big of a deal. I’ve seen people rig up all kinds of janky stuff for shorter runs and it works fine, especially if you’re just testing a new route. Is it REALLY that serious for a quick fix? Seems like everyone’s overthinking this whole thing. Unless you’re pulling cable through a 100-foot conduit, a homemade pull line is probably fine.
