BIM coordination software over weekly meetings, call me crazy
Our crew on the Meridian high-rise had 14 subs fighting over ductwork clashes every Tuesday for 6 months. I pushed to drop the weekly coordination meeting and switch to a shared BIM model with live clash detection. People said we'd lose accountability, but we cut RFIs from 23 in one month down to 9, and the drywall guys stopped standing around waiting for answers. Has anyone else ditched the standard meeting rhythm and just let the model do the talking?

Man, that takes some guts to push that through on a big job like Meridian. I feel for you having to sit through 6 months of those Tuesday meetings, that alone would drive anyone insane. The drywall crew thing is what really hits home for me, nothing kills a schedule faster than guys standing around with their thumbs up their asses waiting on someone else to make a call. We did something similar on a smaller project, not a high-rise, and the difference in how fast we caught problems was night and day. Cutting RFIs by that much, that's not just a win, that's your whole team finally seeing the same picture instead of arguing over screenshots.
