A sub called me out on my rough-in order and it saved my butt on a big job
I was wiring a 12-unit apartment building in Atlanta and getting complaints from the drywall crew about my boxes being off. One of the subs finally pulled me aside and said I was running my rough-in without marking my top plates first, which made everything drift. I started snapping chalk lines on the ceiling joists before pulling any wire, and my box alignment went from trash to perfect in one day. Has anyone else had a basic framing step totally change how their electrical rough-in goes?

Man I learned that exact same lesson the hard way on a duplex. Chalk lines on the joists saved me a ton of headache from the rockers.
