The moon landing faked argument finally fell apart for me after a chat with my dad last week

I used to be one of those people who thought the whole Apollo thing was staged in a studio. But then my dad, who worked at NASA in the 70s as a technician, showed me his old notebooks from 1969. He had specific entries about telemetry signal delays and how they had to account for the 1.3 second ping time (that's from Earth to the Moon and back). I asked him about the flag waving in the vacuum and he pulled out a physics paper from 1971 explaining the bending rod effect. It hit me that so many of my "gotcha" questions had these boring, technical answers I just never looked up. Has anyone else had a family member or someone with direct ties change your view on a big conspiracy?

Your dad actually showed you physical notebooks with telemetry data from the mission? That's wild because most people pushing the faked argument just point to youtube videos nobody fact checks. Did he mention anything about how the film itself survived the radiation belts, because that one always seemed like the hardest technical hurdle to explain away, not just the flag business.
