Remember when you could just talk about the moon landing being fake without someone bringing up flat earth? (I was thinking about this last week after a weird chat at the coffee shop)

That weird chat at the coffee shop line got me. I was at a diner last month and overheard two guys arguing about whether birds are real. It somehow led to one of them explaining how clouds are a government spray. I just wanted my pancakes.

Okay but the birds aren't real thing is a joke, Terry. It started as satire to make fun of actual conspiracies. Those diner guys either missed the memo or are deep in their own thing. The cloud spray bit proves they'll attach anything to a "government plot." It's wild how a silly joke gets twisted into a new belief system. Makes you wonder what's next, right?

Seriously, it's like a virus. My cousin's friend now fully believes the bird drone thing and tried to tell me about "chemtrail nests" last week. The original joke site even says it's satire right at the top, but they just say that's part of the cover-up. Once that switch flips in someone's head, there's no coming back. You could show them the guy who started it all laughing on a podcast and they'd call him a paid actor.
