Rant: The Denver airport art show last year changed my view on 'official stories'

I went to that weird art exhibit in the main terminal, the one with the blue horse and the murals, expecting just some odd decor. After talking to a guide for 45 minutes about the artist's intent, I realized most online theories ignore the actual historical context of the 1990s construction delays. Has anyone else had a moment where digging into the real details made a famous conspiracy seem way less mysterious?

That guide's take is one version. I looked into the artist's other work and the murals still feel off even with the 90s context.

Yeah but "the murals still feel off" is a vibe, not proof. Sometimes weird art is just weird art, you know?

seriously, same. i've looked at local murals where the style just gave me a weird feeling even though the artist was legit and it was from like 2012. sometimes you can't explain it, you know? it's like a gut reaction that doesn't go away no matter how much context you get. like that one piece at the old library here, everyone swears it's a tribute but something about the faces just bugs me lmao. glad the guide's take didn't change your mind either, because vibes are real even if they're not hard proof.
