My whole 'moon landing hoax' presentation crashed right before the library talk

I was putting together a slideshow for the local library's debate night in Poughkeepsie, and my laptop just died. The battery swelled up like a balloon two nights ago, right when I was adding the Apollo 11 transcript analysis. Had to run out and buy a cheap Chromebook, then rebuild everything from my notes in about 3 hours. Anyone ever have their main piece of evidence tech fail right before a big discussion?

Wait your battery SWELLED up? That is a serious fire hazard, you are lucky it didn't go off like a firework in your living room. You should have taken that thing straight to a battery drop-off spot, not just left it sitting around. Honestly the tech fail is one thing but that swollen battery detail has me actually worried for you.

Yeah swollen batteries are no joke, my cousin's kid had a vape pen do that in his backpack last year and it melted a hole right through his math book. Honestly made me switch to only buying electronics from brands with good battery replacement policies. That kind of tech fail right before a talk is the worst feeling though, like the universe is working against you lol. I read an article a while back about how a lot of those old Apollo tapes had degradation issues too, which just adds more fuel to the conspiracy fire for some people.
