My uncle in Reno told me the moon landing was faked in 2019 and I laughed at him, then I spent 6 months reading about it
Back in 2019 my uncle sat me down at a family BBQ in Reno and spent an hour explaining why he thinks the 1969 moon landing was filmed in a studio. I laughed it off and called him crazy right to his face. For some reason it stuck in my head though, so over the next 6 months I read maybe 15 books and dozens of articles just to prove him wrong. The crazy part is I still think he is wrong about the landing itself, but I came out of it way less sure about how much the government tells us about anything. The thing that got me was the Van Allen belt stuff, which I had never even heard of before he brought it up. Has anyone else gone down a rabbit hole trying to debunk a family member and ended up half agreeing with them?
