My flat earth buddy's GPS argument imploded at a gas station
I was at a Shell station in Tulsa with my friend Dave who swears the earth is flat, and he tried to prove GPS works by bouncing signals off dome satellites. Then his phone died and he couldn't even find his way back to his own street without asking me for directions. How do you argue with someone whose proof relies on a charged battery?

Honestly I used to buy the dome theory too but that battery story kinda wrecked it for me.

The battery story does raise some good points, but I've actually seen that happen with other setups too. A friend of mine had a battery pack fail on a completely flat roof during a storm, so it's not just domes that have those issues. If you're still curious about the theory though, just look at how the concrete base is poured for those builds. That part usually tells you more than the dome shape itself.
