My brother-in-law swore the moon landing footage was faked because of the flag waving, and I had to spend an hour on my phone looking up vacuum physics to explain it.
He kept saying 'they got you good' even after I showed him the NASA page, so what's a better way to shut down that specific flag argument for good?

Honestly, the flag thing is the weakest part of their whole argument. It only moved because the astronauts were twisting the pole to get it into the ground. There's no air in a vacuum to cause drag, so once they let go, any motion keeps going until something stops it. That's basic physics. They even did a big mythbusters episode on it. If he won't listen to NASA or basic science, maybe show him that. Some people just decide they're right and facts don't matter.

Wow, I can't believe people still hang onto that flag thing like it's some smoking gun! It's crazy how a simple twist of a pole gets turned into a huge conspiracy. Mythbusters really did nail it, but some folks just won't budge no matter what you show them.

My dad still brings up that flag thing every Thanksgiving. I just show him the Mythbusters clip on my phone now.
