Doomsday bunker tour in Nebraska took a weird turn

Last spring I paid $60 to tour that converted Atlas missile silo near York. The guide swore the air filters were replaced monthly, but I saw a 2019 date stamp on three of them. Anyone else catch details like that on these survival tours or am I just looking too close?

That 2019 date stamp caught my eye too, I went on the same tour back in March. The guide actually got defensive when I asked about it, said the dates were from when the filters were manufactured, not installed. But here's the thing, I called the company that makes those HEPA filters and they confirmed the date on the sticker is the install date. So either the guide was lying or the company is lying, and honestly neither option makes me feel great about spending money there. I also noticed the water tanks had rust rings around the valves, which is a pretty bad sign for something they claim is ready to go at a moment's notice. Ngl, these tours are fun but they're basically theater for people who want to feel prepared without actually doing the work.
