Appreciation post: the mirror trick for fixing logo alignment
I was wrestling with a logo in Portland last week and couldn't get the centering right no matter what I tried. Someone told me to flip my screen upside down or hold it up to a mirror to see the balance fresh, and it actually fixed the issue in like 2 minutes. Has anyone else tried some dumb visual trick that weirdly works better than any tool?

Had a buddy who was doing a wedding invitation layout and couldn't get the couple's names centered over the decoration underneath. He tried every alignment tool in the software for like 45 minutes. Finally he just took a photo with his phone, flipped it horizontally, and saw one name was like a full pica off to the right. Fixed it in 10 seconds after that.

What a waste of time honestly. If you need to flip your screen upside down to see if something is centered, you probably just don't have an eye for design in the first place. Tools like alignment grids and snapping exist for a reason, they work perfectly if you actually know how to use them. Spending 45 minutes with a mirror trick instead of learning proper spacing just sounds like making excuses for not knowing basics.
