Tried a power trowel for the first time last month after years of hand finishing
I always thought power trowels were just for big crews and would mess up the finish on smaller slabs, but I borrowed my buddy's 36 inch for a 500 square foot garage floor and it came out glassy smooth in half the time. Has anyone else been burned by a tool they thought was overrated?

@fiona_nelson51 same here, I was dead set against power trowels until I tried one on a small pad last spring. Totally changed my mind, now I can't go back. It made the finish way better than I ever got by hand.

Oh man, I hear you on that. I was the same way with power trowels, thought they were just for big commercial jobs and would leave swirls or burn the surface on a small pour. But then I tried a 24 inch on a 300 square foot basement floor and it was a total game changer. I got it flat and smooth in like an hour, no knee pain, no missed spots. Hand finishing that same size slab used to take me a full day and it never looked that good. I feel dumb for waiting so long to try one, but I was scared of wrecking a pour. Now I borrow it from my neighbor whenever I can.
