Shoutout to watching the slab shine
I used to just pour and go, but a vet taught me to watch the concrete's shine. Waiting for that perfect moment makes all the difference. Skip this step and you'll ruin the finish every time. It's not about speed, it's about timing. Get this right and the slab looks pro.

That "perfect moment" you mention isn't always a clear rule. In my experience, the right timing depends way more on the weather and the mix you're using. Sticking to just watching the shine can let you miss the real window sometimes.

Yeah exactly, @troy816 gets it. I totally burned a batch last summer because I went by the shine and ignored how humid it was. The mix just stayed tacky forever. You really have to feel the set with your finger, especially when it's muggy out.
