My floor turned out bumpy because I rushed the floating step
I was finishing a garage slab last week and thought I could skip the bull float to save time. The surface set up too fast, and now there are high spots all over. It hit me that every step in the process really does matter, no shortcuts.

Skipping steps always comes back to bite you, learned that myself.

That 'comes back to bite you' thing happened to my friend when he skipped steps fixing his bike.

Disagree, skipping the bull float can work if the mix is right. @patt58's friend's bike problem sounds like user error, not the shortcut. Sometimes you just get unlucky.
