Just figured out I was bullfloating all wrong for 8 years

I was out on a driveway pour in Phoenix last Tuesday and my buddy Steve watched me work for about 2 minutes. He said "dude why are you lifting the float at the end of every pass?" Turns out I was pulling it up too early, leaving low spots everywhere. I had to grind down like 3 high joints on that job and never knew why. Has anyone else had a basic move click for them way later than it should have?

Took me 6 years to learn I was mixing my mud wrong. Brutal.

6 years? That's insane. I can't believe you went that long without catching it. Mixing mud is like the first thing you learn in drywall. Did nobody ever just watch you mix and say hey man you're doing that wrong? I've been doing it for 2 years and I still second guess myself every time. But 6 years though. That's rough.
