I finally hit a moral snag with a shortcut request on a slab job

My crew lead asked me to use less rebar than the specs called for to save time and money. I knew it would make the concrete weaker over the long run, but he said it was fine. I went along with it, but now I feel pretty bad about it. Have you ever had a similar choice to make? What's the right move here for a finisher?

Pushed back on a sketchy refrigerant line patch once. Boss wasn't happy but it saved a callback and bigger problems. Trust your gut, it's usually right about this stuff.

Hope you don't park your truck on that slab later.

My neighbor's driveway slab cracked under his pickup just last month. @paige986, that comment hits home because those pours often can't handle heavy vehicles. Who wants to deal with a huge concrete repair job? The cost and hassle are never worth it.
