Hot take: That damp sponge move for patio edges is a game changer
I was finishing a driveway curb yesterday and the edges kept chipping (always annoying, right). So I grabbed a regular sponge from my bucket and kept it damp while I worked. After the first pass with the float, I lightly wiped the sponge along the top edge. It smoothed out all those tiny cracks before they could set. Now I do this on every slab with exposed edges, and it saves me from callbacks. Seriously, try it next time you're doing any detail work. It's one of those small things that makes a big difference in the final look.

Your old foreman knew about that?

Ever try a spray bottle with a fine mist instead of the sponge? I found it gives more control on vertical surfaces like steps or curb returns. You can keep the edge damp without over-saturating the mix. It's perfect for those hot days when the concrete skins over too fast.
