Got caught in a downpour right after finishing a driveway in Tampa last month, and the surface washout was brutal.

We had just put the final trowel on a 20 by 30 foot slab when the sky opened up, so I grabbed a roll of plastic sheeting from the truck and my crew held it down around the edges for 20 minutes until it passed, saving the finish but man, what's your go-to move for a surprise rain hit?

Man, that Tampa weather is no joke. Had a similar thing happen on a patio pour last spring, just a total sky dump out of nowhere. We keep a couple of those pop-up canopy tents in the truck now for exactly that reason. It's a mad scramble to get them up, but it beats watching the finish get wrecked. That plastic sheeting move is smart though, gotta do what you can.
