Burned a 20 foot section of sidewalk last Tuesday because I didn't wait for the bleed water to evaporate before floating

Came back an hour later and the surface was all scaly and rough so I had to grind it down with a cup wheel, has anyone else had bleed water wreck a finish on a hot day?

Last July I floated a driveway too early and it turned into a crusty mess by noon.

You floated it too early, huh? That crusty mess is a tough lesson. @nathang67, what time of day did you start troweling? I've found that even a couple hours can make or break a slab when the sun's really beating down.
