A pre-dawn mix test made our slab pour flawless
We were setting up for a driveway slab early yesterday, and the air felt sticky and warm. I got a hunch to test the concrete consistency before we even started the pour. The mix was thickening up way too quick, which would have meant a rough finish. We tweaked the water amount slightly and gave it another good mix. That little adjustment let us spread and trowel it smooth without any rush or panic. Now I see that trusting your gut and checking early can save a whole job. It’s a small win, but it made the day go so much better.

Heard a saying once that goes with your point about trusting your gut.

Yeah, my gut's given me some terrible advice (like that third burrito).

Trusting your gut" sounds so serious, but sometimes it's just about that third burrito like danieljenkins said.
