Vent: That time I fought a printer for 3 hours over a paper jam
Last Tuesday at a client's office in Portland, I spent almost 3 hours trying to clear what I thought was a paper jam on an old HP LaserJet. I pulled out every piece of paper I could see, ran cleaning cycles, even took the drum out twice. Turns out the real problem was a tiny staple stuck in the feed roller that I missed because it was hiding under a flap. Has anyone else wasted a whole afternoon on something this dumb?

How'd you even figure out a staple was in there? I'm picturing you with a flashlight and a screwdriver at that point.

Three weeks ago I would have said you just need to be more careful with the printer. But then I spent two hours fighting a scanner that was "jamming" because a paperclip fell in the top slot. Now I get it - sometimes the dumbest stuff is hiding in plain sight.
