TIL a single can of compressed air can undo 3 years of dust in a warehouse PC
Opened up a Dell OptiPlex from our shipping office in Gary that had been running nonstop since 2021, and the heatsink looked like a felt blanket. Took it outside, hit it with a $7 can of air for about 90 seconds, and the thing went from sounding like a jet engine to dead quiet. Temps dropped 22 degrees at idle according to the BIOS. Now I want to know, does anyone here use an actual electric blower instead of cans for this kind of job?
