Overheard a new tech bragging about skipping driver updates

Guy at the Micro Center in Portland said he never updates chipset drivers. Just lets Windows handle everything. Had to pull him aside and explain that's how you end up with random BSODs and network dropouts. You guys ever had to fix a machine where someone skipped all the manufacturer drivers?

Wait, have we all just accepted that "blame the WiFi" is the go-to excuse for everything now? I swear, my neighbor blamed his smart fridge not making ice on "WiFi interference" from my router, but the thing was unplugged. It's like people think technology is some mystical force instead of just wires and signals. You gotta actually check the basics, like is the modem blinking red or is the cat chewing the cable. Everyone jumps to the most complicated answer first when usually it's something stupid simple.
