Just realized my whole shop runs better since we started doing free coffee for walk-ins

We made the change about three months ago. Before that, people would just stand around looking mad while we ran a quick check. Now, we hand them a cup and tell them it'll be ten minutes. The whole mood changed. We went from maybe one or two good reviews a week to getting five or six. A guy last week said he came back because the coffee was good, and we fixed his laptop fast. It costs us maybe $30 a week for the cheap stuff. But it makes people wait without getting upset. Has anyone else tried something small like this that made a big difference with customers?

That $30 a week is probably a bigger cost than you think. You have to factor in the machine, cups, and the staff time to manage it. The real win is just giving people something to do while they wait.

Yeah, you're right tara345, it adds up fast. I never thought about the staff time to keep it running.
