Hit 100 laptops cleaned in a month and the dust weight shocked me

I started tracking my work for a local school district contract last month. After finishing the 100th student laptop, I weighed the compressed air canisters and dust collection bags. The total dust and debris came out to over 2 pounds. It made me realize how much gunk builds up in a shared environment. Has anyone else measured the junk they pull out of machines?

Two pounds of dust from just 100 laptops is wild. I can only imagine what that looks like. That's like a whole bag of flour worth of skin flakes, dirt, and who knows what else. Those keyboards must have been absolutely packed.

My old office had a server room that coughed up a full vacuum canister of that stuff every month, @wadepalmer. It gets everywhere.

Seriously gross when you see it all piled up like that... 2 pounds out of 100 laptops is actually kinda terrifying. Those kids are breathing that stuff in every day. The dust from schools is way worse than office dust too, it's got so much random junk mixed in. Gotta wonder what that much buildup is doing to the laptop fans over time.
