Vent: no one warned me a diver's umbilical can cost more than a new truck
Was flipping through a rigging supply catalog last month and saw a 300 foot gas diver umbilical listed at $22,000. I had to read it three times. My first dive school instructor down in Morgan City just shrugged and said the hose is the cheap part, the fittings and the pot are where your money goes. Still trying to get my head around insurance wanting a diver's whole kit itemized. What does your shop actually charge for a hose respool these days?
