Kirby Morgan band mask vs hardhat - made the switch 6 months ago

I ran a KM-16 for 5 years straight because that's what everyone used. Swapped to a hardhat for a pipeline job off the Gulf Coast and holy crap, the communication is way better. Anyone else find the band masks overrated for hot work?

True. The band slip in sweat alone made me switch back to hardhats.

holy crap the communication is way better" - yeah that's the thing nobody talks about. Band masks are fine for calm water but in hot work with bubbles and noise hardhats are just clearer. Plus I don't miss the band slipping when I'm sweating my butt off.
