Just wasted $350 on a 'budget' dive light that flooded at 60 feet

Budget" dive light is a scary phrase to see. That's gear you're trusting your life with at depth. A flood at 60 feet is a total failure, not just a minor leak. Did you check the o-ring and grease it yourself before the dive? Sometimes factory seals aren't perfect. For next time, maybe stick to brands with a solid reputation for pressure testing, even if it costs more. It's cheaper than replacing all your other flooded gear.

Man, that reminds me of a guy on a boat last year who brought a cheap backup light. It flooded at like 40 feet and filled with salt water. He opened it up later and the battery had basically melted inside the tube. Total corrosive mess, completely ruined. He was just lucky it was only his backup and not his main light.
