I finally stopped doubting the Kirby Morgan band mask after 3 years of using a hard hat
I was always skeptical of those band masks on big construction jobs, figured they were just for rich weekend warriors. Then last month on a bridge inspection in Portland, my old hat seal blew at 40 feet and the band mask a buddy loaned me saved my whole shift. Has anyone else had a similar conversion story or am I just late to the party?

Forty feet down with a blown seal and you just kept working?

Honestly sticking around at forty feet with a busted seal is a bold move. The risk of decompression sickness or something worse just isn't worth finishing the job for me. Maybe it's just me but I'd rather live to dive another day.

Man, forty feet down with a blown seal and you didn't surface? @miller.paul that's some serious nerve or maybe just a really good dive computer. I'd be thinking about the bends the whole time, not how much work was left. Can't see staying down that deep with air screaming past your face.
