I finally hit 500 hours on my Kirby Morgan hat and the number threw me

Just got the service report back from the shop in Morgan City. I bought it used three years ago and figured I was maybe halfway there. It's not just a number, it's every minute of bottom time, every cold deco stop, every time I trusted it to keep me breathing. Makes you think about all the gear we rely on without a second thought. How do you guys track your major gear hours and decide when to really start worrying?

Started logging everything in a simple spreadsheet after my regs hit a similar milestone. I note the date, dive number, and any service notes right after each trip. It's not perfect, but seeing the total creep up helps me plan for shop visits before anything feels off.

That "trusted it to keep me breathing" part gets me. I keep a log book too, like @the_brooke, but I also note who serviced it last.

Honestly that's overkill, the_brooke, it's just gear that gets serviced.
